Our first visit will take us to the Gandantegchinlin Monastery, the spiritual heart of Buddhism in Mongolia. This serene place is home to an impressive 26-meter statue of Maitreya and resonates with the chanting of prayers from monks and worshippers. A fascinating immersion into Mongolian spirituality.

In the afternoon, we will explore downtown Ulaanbaatar starting with Genghis Khan Square, an iconic place where past and present meet. Surrounded by remarkable buildings such as the Government Palace, the National Theatre, and the Stock Exchange, this vast square is a key witness to the country’s modern history.

You will be able to enjoy the architecture, monuments, and vibrant atmosphere of the capital.

At the end of the day, return to the hotel for a well-deserved rest before the next stage of your journey.

After a delicious breakfast, you will head toward Mongolia’s vast wilderness. A 360 km drive (about 5 to 6 hours) will take you through breathtaking landscapes to the Orkhon Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site considered the cradle of the nomadic lifestyle.

Upon arrival in the Ölziit sum, you will be warmly welcomed by Naraa’s family, nomadic herders living in perfect harmony with nature. They raise horses, yaks, sheep, and goats while raising their four children aged 8 to 16.

This stage will be a unique experience for both children and adults:

This morning, it will be time to say goodbye to the nomadic family who warmly welcomed you in recent days.

After these enriching moments, we will head toward Karakorum, the former capital of the Mongol Empire.
Journey to Karakorum – About 1 to 2 hours through the beautiful Orkhon Valley landscapes will take us to our yurt camp.

Upon arrival, enjoy some well-deserved relaxation: shower, rest, and exploration of the surroundings.

Visit to Erdene Zuu Monastery – We will then explore Erdene Zuu, the oldest Buddhist monastery in Mongolia, founded in 1586 on the remains of the former capital.

Surrounded by 108 white stupas, this impressive site reflects the country’s cultural and spiritual richness.

Introduction to Mongolian calligraphy – In the afternoon, we will meet Gerlee, a master of Mongolian calligraphy. This will be a unique opportunity to talk with him about this fascinating traditional art.

Children and adults alike will learn Mongolian script, try writing their first characters, and even create their own pieces.

Relaxing evening at the camp – After a day full of discoveries, return to the yurt camp for a peaceful evening under the starry steppe sky.

We will head to the Tövkhön Monastery, an iconic site perched on the forested mountains of the Orkhon Valley.

Stay with a nomadic family – Upon arrival, we will be welcomed by a new herder family who will introduce us to their traditional lifestyle.

This will be a privileged moment to exchange with them and immerse even deeper into Mongolian nomadic culture.

Hike and herding experience – In the afternoon, we will go for a walk through the rolling landscapes of the region, an opportunity to explore wild nature and admire the serene beauty of steppes and forests.

Evening in immersion – After dinner, enjoy a warm moment with the host family, sharing stories and traditions inside the yurt.

100 km – 2–3 hours

Today, we will hike for 3 to 4 hours to Tövkhön Monastery, perched at 2,312 meters altitude, once a meditation retreat of the great spiritual master Zanabazar.

A walk in the heart of nature – The trail passes through beautiful forests and mountains offering breathtaking panoramic views.

Along the way, we will take time to enjoy the silence and harmony of this sacred environment.

Discovery of the monastery – Once at the top, we will visit this 17th-century monastery, a major spiritual site of Mongolian Buddhism.

It is here that Zanabazar, the first spiritual leader of the Mongols, found inspiration for his artistic and philosophical works.

A moment of peace and reflection – Tövkhön is an ideal place for meditation, contemplation, and feeling the spiritual energy of this historic site.

After this enriching day, we will return to the nomadic family for another night in the yurt.

This morning, we will take a one-hour drive to reach our next host family: Baaska.

Meeting Baaska and his family – Baaska is a yak herder and environmental protector living in harmony with nature. He and his family, including three children aged 3 to 18, will warmly welcome you to their camp located on one of the most beautiful banks of the Orkhon River.

Immersion in nature – Here, you will discover yak-herding life and the richness of the local ecosystem. You will be able to observe these emblematic animals and better understand their role in nomadic life.

Near the famous Orkhon Waterfall – The spectacular Orkhon Waterfall, one of Mongolia’s natural wonders, is only 15 km away – a perfect place to explore the next day!

After a day full of encounters and discoveries, we will spend the night in the yurt, lulled by the gentle sound of the river.

This morning, we will hike to the Orkhon Waterfall, one of Mongolia’s most impressive natural sites.

Hiking to the waterfall – Located 15 km from the camp, this magnificent 16-meter-high waterfall offers spectacular scenery. Along the way, we will cross green meadows, follow the Orkhon River, and enjoy stunning panoramic views.

A perfect moment to observe wildlife and take beautiful photos!

Relaxation at the waterfall – Once there, you can admire this natural wonder, cool off in crystal-clear waters, or simply relax in this magical setting.

Evening in immersion with the nomadic family – Back at Baaska’s family, we will take part in their daily activities.

Milking cows – A truly authentic experience as you learn to milk a cow under the caring guidance of the family.

Preparing dinner together – At the end of the day, we will cook a traditional Mongolian meal together, sharing a warm and friendly moment inside the yurt.

This morning, we will head north of the Gobi Desert, to the protected area of Elsen Tasarkhai at the foot of Mount Khögno Khan.

This impressive landscape, where sand dunes meet mountains, offers spectacular desert scenery.

After resting at the tourist camp, camel ride and visit to Erdenekhamba Monastery, a spiritual site located on the slopes of Mount Khögno Khan.

This historic monastery is a peaceful meditation place, where one can feel a deep connection with nature and Mongolian Buddhist culture.

Today, we will take a 3-hour drive to one of Mongolia’s most iconic natural reserves: Khustai National Park, located in the steppe.

Khustai Park and the Przewalski Horses – This park is famous for conserving Przewalski horses (Takhis), the last wild horses in Asia.

Once nearly extinct, they have now been successfully reintroduced and protected in this natural habitat.

You will have the rare opportunity to observe them in the wild, a fascinating experience for nature and animal lovers.

Arrival at Ganchuluun’s family – At the end of the day, we will continue our adventure to Ganchuluun’s nomadic family, who lives with his wife Siylegmaa and their two children.

Together, they raise over 1,000 animals including sheep, goats, yaks, and horses.

Immersion at Ganchuluun’s home – Upon arrival, you will be invited to discover authentic nomadic life. You may help feed animals, milk cows, or learn herd-management techniques.

Traditional evening in the yurt – We will spend the night in the yurt, enjoying a warm dinner with traditional Mongolian dishes accompanied by stories and legends told by the host family.

This day will offer a true immersion into nomadic life, allowing you to fully experience Mongolia close to nature and local traditions.

This morning, we will hit the road back to Ulaanbaatar. Upon arrival, you will have the opportunity to do your last shopping and buy typical Mongolian souvenirs.

Performance of Mongolian art masters – In the evening, we will attend a Tumen Ekh performance, a prestigious ensemble of traditional Mongolian artists.

Their show highlights traditional dances, songs, instrumental music, and the famous Mongolian throat singing, a spectacular and unique vocal art.

Relaxation at the hotel – After this magical evening, we will return to the hotel for a well-deserved rest before concluding this unforgettable journey.
