In the afternoon, we will visit the Zanabazar Museum of Fine Arts, which houses precious works by the first Bogd Gegeen, the artist and spiritual leader Zanabazar.

You will discover the famous 21 Taras, sacred sculptures of remarkable delicacy, along with other masterpieces of Mongolian Buddhist art. It will be a fascinating immersion into the country’s history and culture.

In the morning, we will leave Ulaanbaatar and head toward Elsen Tasarkhai, a unique landscape where golden sand dunes meet mountains and lush green valleys. Along the way, we’ll immerse ourselves in the serenity of the steppes and discover the traditional nomadic lifestyle.

Meeting with a Nomadic Family
Upon our arrival, Davaasuren’s family will warmly welcome us at the foot of the dunes. More than just visitors, you will be invited to share in their daily life and hospitality.
You will meet Doljin, a Mongolian nomad specialized in traditional silk embroidery. She will introduce you to her unique craft and guide you in creating a small handmade souvenir.

Camel Ride and Sunset Over the Dunes
In the late afternoon, we’ll set off on a beautiful camel ride across the golden dunes. At the gentle pace of your mount, you’ll soak in the calm and vastness of the desert.
At the top of the dunes, we’ll watch the sunset as it paints the sky with shades of orange and purple — a magical moment of serenity and reflection.

Evening Under the Stars
Back at the family camp, we’ll spend a friendly evening beneath the starry desert sky. You’ll enjoy traditional songs, conversations with Doljin about nomadic life, and a deeply authentic experience of Mongolian culture.

Day Two – Peaceful Morning and Nomadic Life Discovery
At sunrise, those who wish can join Doljin in her morning chores, such as milking the cows in traditional Mongolian fashion.
In the afternoon, we’ll explore the Erdene Khamba Monastery, a spiritual retreat nestled in the mountains of Khögnö Khan. This 17th-century monastery radiates a unique atmosphere.
There, we’ll meet a guardian who has watched over the site for 20 years and will share with us the history and secrets of this sacred Buddhist place.

Two days of immersion in nature and nomadic life: We will head to the Orkhon Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage site. This exceptional place brings together Mongolia’s rich history, cultural heritage, and stunning natural beauty.

Meeting with a Family of Valley Guardians
We will stay with Togtokhoo, a warm-hearted nomadic woman who will welcome us with her radiant smile and contagious energy. She will introduce us to her daily life and the traditions of nomadic herding. You’ll have the opportunity to help her with daily tasks and fully experience this unique way of life.

Ulaan Tsutgalan Waterfall
We’ll explore the majestic Ulaan Tsutgalan waterfall, a 20-meter-high cascade surrounded by lush nature — a perfect setting for recharging and relaxing.

Togtokhoo will teach us how to prepare khuushuur, a traditional fried meat pastry of Mongolia. We’ll learn how to knead the dough, season the meat, shape the pastries, and fry them until golden — all while sharing stories and the secrets of nomadic hospitality.

These two days will offer an unforgettable immersion in the heart of Mongolian culture, full of tradition, nature, and meaningful connections.

Today, we visit the Tövkhön Monastery, perched at an altitude of 2,400 meters. This sacred site is where the famous “21 Dar’ikh Taras” seen in Ulaanbaatar originated.

Nestled atop a forested mountain, the monastery is accessible after a pleasant 2 to 3-hour hike. Along the way, the fresh steppe air, birdsong, and rustling trees offer a deep sense of peace. At the monastery, you’ll discover the spiritual richness of Mongolia.
According to local belief, passing through the sacred rock known as the “Mother’s Womb” brings about spiritual rebirth. Those who wish may take part in this powerful purification experience for body and mind.

Finally, a special encounter awaits us: our English-speaking guide Bolor, who is married to a nomadic herder, will share her personal story and how she embraced Mongolian culture. A trained social worker from Hawaii, Bolor is dedicated to supporting local communities by providing social assistance.

Tourist camps draw water from the natural springs and heat it to the ideal temperature for your comfort, allowing you to fully enjoy this moment of relaxation.

Today, we set off to discover Kharkhorin, the ancient capital of Mongolia — a place steeped in 13th-century history.

Upon arrival, we will begin with a visit to the Kharkhorin Museum, where we’ll dive into the history of this great capital founded by Genghis Khan and explore fascinating archaeological artifacts.

Next, we will explore the Erdene Zuu Monastery, the oldest Buddhist monastery in Mongolia, strolling peacefully among its ancient stupas and temples.

In the afternoon, we’ll visit the Calligraphy Center, where we’ll learn the basics of Mongolian calligraphy under the guidance of local artist Gerlee. This will be a chance to discover the beauty of Mongolian script and create your own piece of art while immersing yourself in this ancient culture.

We will spend the night in a guest house run by a local woman.

Heading toward Ulziit, in the heart of Arkhangai, we will arrive near the archaeological site of Lüncheng — the ancient royal palace of the Xiongnu. This place beautifully combines cultural heritage and natural beauty. We will set up our private camp in an exceptional spot, offering stunning panoramic views of the region.

In the afternoon, we’ll split into small groups and set out to meet local nomadic families. Without a guide, we will immerse ourselves in their daily lives, observe their lifestyle, and take part in their everyday tasks. Later in the day, we’ll return to camp to share our experiences and reflections.

We will visit Khustai National Park, renowned for the reintroduction of the Przewalski horses (Takhi), a rare wild species brought back from extinction. The park is also home to diverse wildlife, including deer, marmots, wolves, lynxes, eagles, and various birds. This will be a great opportunity to observe nature and immerse yourself in this unique ecosystem.

Learning Mongolian Dairy Traditions with Siilegmaa
We’ll meet Siilegmaa, a nomadic woman who will introduce us to the traditional methods of making Mongolian dairy products. You'll learn how to make curdled milk, butter, and yogurt — essential elements of nomadic culture.

Traditional Performance Evening
In the evening, we’ll attend a traditional Mongolian show. You’ll discover khoomei throat singing, the music of the morin khuur (horsehead fiddle), folk dances, long songs (urtyn duu), and contortion acts. It will be a deep immersion into the richness of Mongolian culture through its performing arts.

We’ll share a final dinner together, exchanging memories and reflections from the journey.
