Everest Base Camp is the starting point for climbers attempting to summit Mount Everest, the highest peak in the world. It is located at an altitude of approximately 5,364 meters (17,598 feet) above sea level in the Khumbu region of Nepal.
The most common way to reach Everest Base Camp is by trekking from Lukla, a small mountain airstrip in Nepal. You can take a flight from Kathmandu to Lukla and start your trek from there. The trek usually takes around 12-14 days round trip.
While previous trekking experience can be helpful, it is not mandatory. The Everest Base Camp trek is challenging but can be undertaken by anyone with a good level of fitness and a strong determination to complete the journey.
The best time for the Everest Base Camp trek is during the pre-monsoon (spring) season (March to May) and post-monsoon (autumn) season (September to November). During these months, the weather is relatively stable, and the skies are clear, providing breathtaking views of the Himalayas.

Hotel Classification: The star ratings indicated above refer to local standards (LS) established by the competent authorities of each country. They do not correspond to international hotel classifications. The criteria for awarding ratings may vary from one country to another and reflect the local level of comfort, services, and facilities.
Nomadic Yurts: Nomadic yurts (gers) are equipped with 4 to 5 beds and powered by solar panels, providing enough electricity for lighting but limited for other uses. This type of accommodation allows guests to experience authentic nomadic life, as the guest yurts are located close to the host family and surrounded by livestock. In order to fully enjoy nature, most of the itinerary includes overnight stays in yurts. To ensure a comfortable stay, we set up additional yurts near a nomadic family, allowing our guests to enjoy a genuine nomadic experience. Each yurt is shared by 4 to 5 people.
Dry Toilets (Wooden Latrines): These are traditional wooden toilets without running water, where waste is collected in a separate pit. Simple yet functional, they allow visitors to experience the authentic lifestyle of nomadic families while respecting sustainable and traditional regional practices.
Washbasin / Bathing: There is no running water or shower inside the yurts. However, each yurt is equipped with a convenient washbasin for washing hands. Nearby, portable showers are installed for visitors, adapted to rural conditions. This allows for comfortable hygiene while still offering an authentic nomadic living experience.
Mongolian Tourist Camps: Mongolian tourist camps provide simple yet authentic comfort. You will stay in yurts (gers) equipped with 2 to 5 beds and heated by a stove or underfloor heating system. Shared sanitary facilities are available, and a restaurant serves meals suitable for travelers.
