Rajasthan at Diwali Among Women

Your journey begins the moment you arrive in Delhi, where our local team welcomes you at the airport with a traditional flower garland before accompanying you to the hotel.

As everyone will arrive on different international flights, the first day remains free. You will have time to settle in, rest after the journey and gently adjust to the energy of India.

In the evening, we will meet for a welcome dinner. It will be time to get to know the women who will share this adventure with you — strangers only a few hours earlier and soon companions connected by unforgettable memories.

After breakfast at the hotel, we will set out to discover an Indian capital transformed by the colours and decorations of Diwali.

At Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, the white marble, sacred pool and immense community kitchen will introduce you to the generosity of Sikh culture. Women and men work side by side here to prepare and serve thousands of free meals in a spirit of equality and sharing.

The carved architecture of Akshardham Temple will then lead us into the symbols and spirituality of Hinduism before we reach the impressive Jama Masjid, one of India’s largest mosques.

Then comes one of the most vibrant moments of the day: a rickshaw ride through Old Delhi. This iconic Indian mode of transport will carry us through the narrow lanes of Chandni Chowk, among stalls overflowing with flowers, sweets, jewellery, fabrics and festive decorations.

Before the evening, you will be dressed in a beautiful traditional sari. As Delhi begins to glow, we will join a prayer dedicated to the goddess Lakshmi before celebrating Diwali together.

An evening of light, colour and emotion that will become one of the journey’s most powerful memories.

After breakfast at the hotel, our discovery of Delhi continues along the broad avenues of the modern capital.

We will reach India Gate, the emblematic memorial surrounded by gardens, ceremonial avenues and official buildings that reveal a completely different face of the city.

The atmosphere becomes quieter at the Lotus Temple. Its spectacular flower-shaped architecture welcomes women and men of every religion into a space devoted to silence and serenity.

In the afternoon, we will leave Delhi by road. Little by little, the capital gives way to the landscapes of northern India.

Our destination is Agra, the City of Love, where one of the world’s most beautiful monuments awaits us at dawn.

Before the city wakes, we will make our way to the Taj Mahal.

In the soft morning light, its white marble turns pink and gold. Draped in your saris, you will have time to enjoy this magical setting and capture beautiful photographs in front of India’s most iconic monument.

Beyond its famous love story, we will discover the women, artisans and extraordinary craftsmanship connected to the Taj Mahal, from delicate floral inlays to the story of Mumtaz Mahal and the Mughal court.

Back at the hotel, we will enjoy breakfast before exploring Agra Fort, with its red sandstone walls, royal apartments and views towards the Taj Mahal.

The road to Jaipur then takes us through Fatehpur Sikri, Emperor Akbar’s former imperial capital. Its palaces, courtyards and monumental gateways immerse us in the elegance and secrets of the Mughal era.

By evening, we will arrive in Rajasthan’s legendary Pink City.

After breakfast at the hotel, Jaipur unfolds before us in shades of pink, gold and ochre.

The courtyards and mirrored halls of Amber Fort transport us into the world of Rajasthan’s royal families. At Hawa Mahal, its hundreds of carved windows reveal how royal women once watched processions and city life while remaining unseen.

The City Palace, Jantar Mantar and the floating silhouette of Jal Mahal complete our discovery of Jaipur’s royal heritage.

But the most precious moments of the day take place away from the palaces.

We will meet women whose skills and creativity help preserve Rajasthan’s traditions. A henna artist will decorate your hands, while a block-printing workshop introduces us to the carved wooden blocks and vivid fabrics for which Jaipur is famous.

Later, a local family will welcome us into their home. In the kitchen, we will help the women prepare part of the meal, discover their spices and share their stories.

Around the family table, India will no longer feel like a country we are simply visiting, but a culture opening its doors to us.

After breakfast at the hotel, the road leads us away from Jaipur’s palaces and towards Pushkar.

Built around a sacred lake, this small town has an atmosphere unlike anywhere else in Rajasthan. Temple bells, prayers and the scent of incense accompany daily life around the ghats.

We will walk beside the water and visit the Brahma Temple, one of the rare temples in India dedicated to the creator god Brahma.

You will then have time to explore the colourful bazaar, filled with fabrics, silver jewellery, bangles, incense and handcrafted treasures.

Pushkar invites us to slow down and discover a more spiritual, gentle and deeply touching side of India.

After breakfast at the hotel, we will leave Pushkar and cross Rajasthan towards Udaipur.

Villages, countryside and scenes of everyday life pass beyond the windows. Women working in the fields, caring for their families or walking through villages in bright saris remind us that Rajasthan’s beauty also belongs to those who bring it to life every day.

At the end of the road, Udaipur, the City of Lakes, appears between the hills and calm waters.

A first walk beside Lake Pichola introduces us to its white façades, ghats and palaces reflected in the evening light.

After breakfast at the hotel, we will step into the elegant world of Udaipur.

The magnificent City Palace overlooks Lake Pichola from a maze of courtyards, balconies and royal apartments. Behind its decorated screens, we will imagine the queens and princesses who once lived in these protected spaces.

At Saheliyon-ki-Bari, the Garden of the Maidens, fountains and shaded pavilions tell a gentler story. Created for the women of the royal court, it was a place where they could meet, walk and enjoy moments away from palace ceremony.

The day also introduces us to women preserving Rajasthan’s artistic heritage through textiles, embroidery or miniature painting.

In the late afternoon, we will glide across Lake Pichola as the palaces turn golden in the setting sun.

Dinner beside the lake brings our Rajasthan adventure to a beautiful close.

After breakfast at the hotel, we will travel to Udaipur Airport for our flight to Delhi.

The afternoon remains free for a final walk, a little shopping or simply time to rest before the journey home.

This last evening brings us together once more, with so much to remember: the light of Diwali, the Taj Mahal at dawn, laughter in a family kitchen, colourful saris and the women whose stories revealed a more intimate India.

We arrived as individual travellers. We leave with shared memories and new friendships.

After breakfast at the hotel, a private transfer takes you to Delhi International Airport.

Your suitcase may be filled with fabrics, jewellery and photographs, but the most beautiful memories cannot be packed: the warmth of the women who welcomed you, the scent of spices, the silence of sacred places and the glow of thousands of Diwali lights.

India will stay with you long after the journey ends.
